Quantum is a locally owned and operated company that has been in business since 1995. We’ve seen many other local and national providers come and go, but Quantum has been an example of stability in an otherwise tumultuous market. T1 Internet Access
Quantum’s T-1 Internet service delivers reliable access anywhere in the Baltimore metro area. T-1 technology has been around for decades, but Quantum has recently given it a makeover with Ethernet and bonding technology. Ethernet technology makes T-1 circuits more efficient when compared to T-1s utilizing high-overhead protocols such as ATM and frame relay. If your needs currently demand symmetrical bandwidth greater than 1.544 Mbps, or may demand it in the future, Quantum’s bonding technology can merge up to 8 T-1 circuits together to deliver up to 12 Mbps of service. Bonding technology also increases reliability, because if one T-1 circuit were to encounter a fault, the remaining T-1(s) will continue to operate, keeping your data flowing.

ISDN PRI
Quantum’s ISDN PRI service is a digital telephone service that delivers crystal-clear voice conversations over a T-1 circuit. A PRI can handle up to 23 simultaneous voice conversations and is expandable to hundreds of conversations by adding additional T-1 circuits. ISDN PRI also enables Direct Inward Dialing, which will allow the assignment of unique telephone numbers to individuals within your organization to efficiently route calls directly to their destination without having to first go through a receptionist or auto attendant. Quantum’s PRI service also includes Calling Number w/ Name.

Enterprise High Speed Internet

Ethernet Virtual Private Line
Quantum’s Ethernet Virtual Private Line (E-VPL) is the perfect solution for distributed organizations that need to connect multiple offices together. E-VPL utilizes Ethernet VLANs to deliver private Layer-2 connectivity between sites. Since it uses Ethernet technology, E-VPL is less complex than MPLS, Frame Relay, ATM, and IPSec, and doesn’t require an expensive enterprise router. E-VPL has higher performance than IPSec VPNs because your traffic will not traverse the public Internet, nor will it have the added latency of encryption.

Integrated / Dynamic T1
Quantum’s Integrated and Dynamic T-1 services combine voice telephony with Internet access to form a cost-effective bundle of services. Integrated and Dynamic T-1s are perfect for smaller organizations that want the reliability and universal availability of a T-1, but are not ready to commit to a full T-1 of Internet service. Integrated T-1s dedicate a fixed number of channels for voice service. Dynamic T-1s dynamically allocate and prioritize bandwidth for voice service so that more bandwidth is available for Internet access when less voice service is in use. The voice service associated with these types of arrangements can be provided as standard analog business lines, digital trunks, or ISDN PRI.

SIP Trunking
Quantum’s SIP Trunking service is the latest innovation in digital voice service. SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) is a VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) technology that enables an ISDN-like telephone service to be run on top of Quantum’s Internet access services. Just like an ISDN PRI, SIP Trunking includes Direct Inward Dialing, which will allow the assignment of unique telephone numbers to individuals within your organization to efficiently route calls directly to their destination without having to first go through a receptionist or auto attendant. SIP Trunking is very cost effective for small organizations as only 4 trunks are required to be purchased, versus 23 for an ISDN PRI. SIP Trunking can also use lower-cost transport, such as our Business or Enterprise High Speed Internet, instead of a PRI’s T-1 transport. SIP Trunking traffic is prioritized through Quantum’s QoS-enabled (Quality of Service) network, which ensures excellent call quality.
